DHC MASCARA PERFECT PRO DOUBLE PROTECTION
A while ago I was reading blogs and saw a blog post on the DHC Perfect Pro Double Protection Mascara. I thought it looked rather nice so left a comment, then a few days later the folk at DHC got in touch and asked if I wanted to review a tube...is that what they're called? A tube?
Having fallen ever so slightly out of love with the Miss Manga Punky Mascara I was an eager beaver and said yes straight away, so when it turned up in the post I was excited to give it a whirl.
It's a waterproof mascara but doesn't apply like one, which was a win for me. With other waterproof mascaras I've found you need 21321 coats to make it look like you're wearing anything, the photos above were after 2 coats. It also claims to have "tube technology formula" to lengthen your lashes without flaking, smudging, or smearing and the website states it'll come off with just a bit of hot water and a cloth.
So how was it? The mascara was definitely long wearing and there were no smudges at all, which was quite impressive considering I wore it for a full day of shopping with the mum. My lashes stayed looking long throughout the whole day and I didn't see any flakes until it came to taking it off.
So removing it was an odd experience, the blog I read said it came off in flakes which I thought was an odd description, but she was so. right. I used my usual method of baby lotion to take my makeup off and the mascara seemed to fall off my lashes in what can only be described as chunks (ew). This wasn't necessarily a bad thing, as it all came off really easily, it was just an odd experience.
At £15.90 the DHC Mascara is slightly pricier than the "drugstore" but for a durable waterproof mascara that actually lengthens the lashes I'd definitely say it's worth it - just watch out for the chunky removal!
