Enrapture Totem Styler: Ebay (£19.99)

Back in 2012/2013 the Enrapture Totem Styler was all the rage in the blogging world. I imagine this was because a lot of bloggers were sent it to review, but then more people started lusting after perfectly waved hair and wanted in on the action. I remember reading Lily's post and almost parted with the £80 they were selling it for at the time, before realising my GHD's were actually doing an ok job and £80 for a curler was a little silly.

So the years went by and my hair began to forgive me, but word on the street recently (or Brogan to be exact) was that Home Bargains were selling the totem stylers for a mere £17.99. I guess after the hype had died down the next step was to enter the world of the discount store. Either way I grabbed the last pair and did a little happy jig.

The styler is meant to be used like an old fashioned curling tong, with a clamp at the bottom to hold onto the hair whilst it does it's magic. Whenever I've tried this method I end up with a tonne of unwanted kinks so I prefer to use it like a wand and just wrap chunks of hair around the barrel to make a curl.
The barrel is also split into three sections and you can alter the temperature these by turning the little nozel thing from 1 to 3. The idea is that the higher the temperature, the tighter the curl. So if you wanted a really loose wave you'd put all three sections on number 1, and vice versa.

In the picture above I've used 3-2-2 and it took me under ten minutes to curl my whole unruly head of hair which is a good thing if I've snoozed too much before work.

So would I recommend them? If you're currently using straighteners to curl your hair then YES. The totem styler takes half the time and holds a curl for so much longer. Plus you can get a really volumized beachy look with these, with my straighteners I sometimes end up looking a bit like a judge and it drops out into weird sausage curls.

Overall I'm really impressed, and if you're not able to grab these in your local home bargains then they're only £19.99 on ebay here.

She kill 'em with a dance

Dress: Boohoo (£15.00)
Boots: USC (£12.00)

Note: I don't feel I "Kill 'em with a dance", my  tweaking is questionable at best. I just like Fuse ODG......

This is the first time I've ever taken photos in RAW mode and it's something I'll definitely be doing in the future! The pictures looked a bit dark when opened in photoshop, but the magic of curves have turned them brighter and much sharper than my usual JPEG images. Wins.

This dress is/was a complete bargain at £15.00, it comes in six colours altogether so if you like it then definitely have a click here, especially as boohoo seem to have free delivery all the time at the moment. The boots were also extra cheap, I paid £20 but they've been reduced now to £12.50 at USC, kind of tempted to buy another pair for spares.

Oh and this braid is thanks to five day old hair. Yeah I know I'm gross. My aim is to get to seven days at some point before it starts to dreadlock but that'll have to wait for a time I don't need to be seen in public....

Hope everyone is having a swell weekend, the news has been sprung on me that I've got a flat inspection next week (perils of living in a rented house!) so I've been manically cleaning in preparation and have developed a hatred for bathroom tiles. Why do they not stay white?

Mac Mineralize Eyeshadow: Sweet & Sour

Mac Mineralize Eyeshadow Duo in Sweet & Sour

I took these photos yonks ago when I actually bought this, but I've been using Mac's mineralize eyeshadow in Sweet & Sour a lot more lately so I thought I'd give my 2 pennies worth....is that even a phrase? Or is it "two pence worth?"

Either way I like this. I like this a lot. Having blue/grey eyes I probably shouldn't be a fan of green eyeshadow but when these two are mixed together you'll end up with a gorgeous emeraldy goldy mixture that'll leave you looking bright eyed and shimmery. As you can see from the "swatch" above, it's quite a sheer colour not too different from the mineralise skin finishes, so for people that normally shy away from colour, this is deffs something to look at.
I stupidly didn't take a photo of the colours separately, but they're just as pretty on their own and look so much better in real life than in photos - I'm guessing this is due to the light catching all the little shimmery particles.

Wear-wise it's a topper upper unless you've got a mean primer, without it you'll probably be lucky to get 3 hours and will end up with (Gary) glitter cheeks. With the Urban Decay primer potion I've managed to get around 5 hours staying power and the fallout isn't as bad.

The mac mineralize eyeshadows are also pretty versatile as you can apply them wet for a dramatic "look at my eyeshadow!" look. To do this you just dunk your brush in water and pretend you're back in GCSE art...viola, a bold and buildable colour.

And speaking of application I've found this is best applied with a dense(r) brush in order to pack the colour onto your lid. Rather than swipe the shimmer around it's best to pat it on with a less fluffy brush. I've been using the crown BK14 and it's been working well for me.

Have you tried any mineralize eyeshadows by Mac? Which are your favourites?

Bye Bye Junk Food

Check Trousers: Newlook (£15.99)
Black Top: Newlook (£7.99)
Heels: Newlook (£27.99)

When I quickly edited these photo's this morning the word that sprung to mind was haggard. I looked knackered in every single photo. Knackered and heavier than usual. And no this isn't because the spawn of myself is living inside me, it's just the result of way too much junk food and not enough sleep.
So these photo's are a nudge in the other direction for me (although I have just eaten a Krispy Kreme....) and from now on/tomorrow my junk food intake is being banished and fruit will prevail, I'm also going to try and get a bit more sleep at night  - sorry Candy Crush, our affair must end.

Enough of the woe is me! I've now been given a smidgen of motivation so I'm off to work out Kayla Itsines style, my muscles will hate me tomorrow.
