 photo chichigiveaway_zpsc5cdc617.jpg

The lovely folk at Chi Chi Clothing have offered one of my readers an item of their choice from their website which I think is rather swell as I'm quite fond of my own chi chi dress (can be seen here) and always get compliments on it. All you have to do is follow the points on the Rafflecopter form below and get to Chi Chi Clothing to pick out what you want to get your mitts on. The only rule is that it can't be from their Couture Range but none of the dresses above are so if you like any of these then wins all round : )

Jacket: c/o Sheinside
Sequin Top: Missguided
Disco Pants: American Apparel

I wasn't going to put these photos up for two reasons. 1. My thighs seem to have doubled in size and I don't think disco pants are right for me anymore, and 2. I look like I've escaped a variety act at Butlins what with the red coat and sequins.
Ah well, as much as I wish I was a dab hand at photoshop sadly I'm not so my thighs and lack of gap will have to (dis)grace my blog for as long as I have them!
Hope everyone is enjoying their long weekend? Me and Thomas ventured into Milton Keynes yesterday to do a bit o'shopping and it was manic. Pushchairs and families a plenty. We even braved the most impractical of all stores in the history of stores - Hollister. Why is it so dark? I tell no lies when I say I once saw a women rooting around the t shirts wearing a hat with a torch. Madness.
Anyway it was payday for me and after the hideousness of having my brand new (and uninsured) iphone stolen I decided to go for an ipad mini to go alongside the shoddy cheap phone I now have. Any recommendations on apps? So far I just have twitter (@imeloweez if you fancy a stalk) and an addictive game where you ride a motorbike up and down hills.

Mac Speed Dial Lipstick

Out of all the mac lipstick finishes cremesheen is by far my favourite, it's creamy (obv), glossy, pigmented, and longer lasting than the other less matte finishes. Speed dial is a blue toned bubblegum esque pink that sits perfectly on my too-scared-to-try-brights lips. It has an ever so slight golden shimmer that's picked up in the bullet but doesn't come off on the lips at all and gives an everyday look a little bit more oomph than usual.
The formular doesn't last incredibly long on me but for some reason not many lipsticks do, I can read a review on a particular product that says it has 4 hour staying power and I'll be lucky to get an hour out of it. I'd say an hour to hour 1/2 tops for Speed Dial if I'm not eating/drinking/downing jagers.
Overall this lipstick has been making me happy lately, it's been bringing a dabble of colour to otherwise grey days and makes me feel a bit more girly whilst sat in my headset at work.

1. Topshop Roll Sleeve Dress // 2. Benefit World Famous Neutrals // 3. Asos Floral Trousers
4. Ipad Mini // 5. Benefit Hello Flawless // 6. Moroccanoil Intense Hydrating Mask
7. Converse Plimsols // 8. Boohoo Skater Skirt // 9. Boohoo Printed Trousers

I'm getting paid early this month due to the long awaited bank holiday weekend and I'm already mentally spending my pennies online. After a few failed trips into town recently I've come to the conclusion that I'm no longer one for actual stores on a Saturday, who needs to wrestle through herds of teens dressed more stylishly than you (sigh) when you can sit on the sofa with a brew and a digestive or two and have a good browse?

I've been wanting to "get into shape" for the summer and I think these photos are going to be the ones that make me do it. I know I'm not overweight but I just think I look a little wobbly here and my mission to become a Toned Toni starts now. Or at least tomorrow after I've finished these skittles...
Oh and 'scuse the white rubbish all over the floor, the plasterer (using the term loosely) that bodged our ceiling left a bit of a mess, silly chap!
Hope everyone has had a good weekend? Me and Thomas spent yesterday afternoon perusing the shops before embarking on the hellish task that is....flat pack furniture. There's not much more I despise than the instructions that come with flat pack furniture, I'm just not a practical person and those little diagrams all look the same to me. Never the less after a lot of expletives and cups of tea the new wardrobe was finally constructed and I now have a little pine box for some of my wears.

It's a bit of an eyesore but my dresses are no longer being used as blankets for my cat under the bed so I'm happy.
So throw in an episode of Geordie Shore and that's my weekend! And SOZ to harp on but if you could  be so kind as to click here and vote for me in the company blog awards I'd be one happy, albeit slightly sickened by skittles, girl. Oh and if you like my title song as much as I do then we would be great buds.

Competition Entry: Casual, Party & Beach(each)

After seeing Olivia post about the moneysupermarket Passion for Fashion competition I sort of had to enter, I'm always one for a wish list and I like creating outfits I can't afford so I thought why not? The rules are extra simple, create three outfits for the three categories and bobs ya uncle, providing each uncle costs under £200 in total.
So here are my creations (is it reaaaal -  if you get that reference then kudos).

casual outfit
Topshop Dress £26.00 // Aldo Bag £50.00 // Asos Necklace £8.00 // Newlook Wedges £29.99
Essie Nail Polish 7.99 // Topshop Lipstick £8.00

To be honest this is more of a smart casual, a casual shop-in-a-nicer-city-than-i-live-in if you will. I'm in love with this roll sleeved dress from Topshop, the sleeves and length look like they'll hide a multitude of sins whilst the wedges will give a bit of welcomed height as well as being comfortable for daywear. The bag is also smart casual esque whilst being the perfect size for all my supplies and the kitchen sink.

party outfit
Inlovewithfashion Dress £32.00 // Accessorize Necklace £10.00 // Topshop Platforms £60.00
Newlook Clutch £15.99 // Asos Earrings £6.00 // Revlon Lip Butter £5.99 (on offer)

I've gone a bit Kat Slater here but alas I don't care. I want it all and I want to arrange a million nights out so I can wear the outfit a million times over. The shoes are incredible and add a bit of oomph to a classic but chic lbd, and the red lip butter tops the whole shebang off with a welcome bit of colour.

beach outfit
H&M Trousers £12.99 // Brat & Suzie Vest £28.00 // Office Sandals £40
Crown and Glory Headband £6.00 // Burts Bees Lipbalm £3.69 // Newlook Bikini Top £16.99
Newlook Bikini Bottoms £10.99

I've just booked my flights to Spain to visit moms and pops so was dreaming of sunny Mojacar when putting this together, I'm loving how the laid backness of the strews with the printed vest hides an extra girly and slightly kitsch bikini underneath. Also a holiday isn't a holiday without the sun giving you chapped lips so I had to throw in my own saviour Burt and his bees.

What do you think of my choices? Any favourites? If you want to enter then Olivia has explained all the rules here, make sure you let me know if you have so I can have a nosey at your choices!

Mac Mineralize Blush: Warm Soul

mac mineralize blush mac warm soul mac blush mac warm soul swatch

This blush was picked out for me by the lovely Mac lady doing my wedding makeup. I'm a highlighter fan (matte isn't a friend to my dry skin) and have never tried any of the mineralize blushes but I'm so glad she made me try it. Warm Soul is a peachy, orangey colour with a sheen to the finish that gives me a healthy looking glow whilst at the same time adding a subtle bit o' colour.
The shade is perfect for the summer (if we ever get to see a summer in England!) and I reckon will look great on fair to medium skin tones, I think if you have anything darker than an olive tone to your skin it could end up looking slightly orangey but alas this is just a thought, as my pale skin will never be olive.
I'm currently using a no7 powder blush to apply this to my upper cheekbones which gives a lovely wash of colour without looking too "Blossom"*. The shade is perfect with a neutral eyeshadow and tonnes of mascara for a english rose esque daytime look I've also built up the colour on an evening for a night on the razzle.

Overall I'm extremely impressed with my first mineralize blush experience, mac lady in Milton Keynes you did good!

Also, I'm not usually one to enter competitions and the likes but if you could vote for Frolics and Fashion by clicking the little company awards button on the right I'd be a right ol' happy larry.

Revlon Lip Butter: Tutti Frutti

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

If I'm honest I actually picked this up by mistake, I thought I had grabbed Candy Apple but instead ended up with Tutti Frutti. It's definitely not something I'd usually go for as it's so bright and, well, orange, but the glossy creamy texture makes it less "look at that girl with the orange face" and more "look at that girl with the tinted lips" if that makes sense?
The colour is definitely buildable, if applied lightly to the lips it's more of a coral shade but after a few more swipes it becomes bolder and more vibrant. It's a gorgeous shade that'll look great on tanned and pale girls, but for me it just doesn't sit well with my freckles - I try to hide them under foundation and an even skintone primer but this shade just seems to emphasise them, sigh.
I'm in love with the moisturising texture of these and it's just a bit of a shame my over eager hands grabbed at the wrong colour, but for £7.99 and regularly on 3 for 2 in boots I can't really complain too much.

What are your favourite lip butter shades?

Pale Legs with Weird Knees

skater skirt peplum peplum peter pan colar

Top: c/o Fashion Union
Skirt: Boohoo
Shoes: Soyoushoes

Apologies for the yellowy photos, the weather is awful and grey so I had to use the weird bulbs from my living room. This seems to have highlighted the fact that my legs are incredibly pale/stumpy. Oh well. Anyway this top was sent to me from Fashion Union, it's actually peplum but I've hidden the little frills as they make my belly look a bit round - I love it tucked in though and this boohoo skirt is becoming my most overworn item of the moment, so tempted to buy it in an array of colours and make a technicolour skirt wardrobe like a Joseph in drag.
Anyway today has been a bit of a non day, I took Thomas to work at 6am then came home and fell asleep until 12:30 pm, what a lazy Linda. Then I had a jaunt into town where I tried to buy some shampoo and my card declined in boots, cringe, I had that horrible moment when you know the shop assistant (who was in this case younger than I) was feeling sorry for me and patronisingly said "Do you not want them then". Golly. Rather than trying to redeem myself by explaining that I have a silly habit of swapping money between accounts I just blushed and scuttled out of the shop empty handed.

So yeah that's my day, Thomas is going to cook me some nice chicken and halloumi tonight and we're going to settle down like a pair of oldies and watch ant and dec. Oh and I snapped him doing a bit of flaring earlier and here's the result.

Mac Satin Taupe & Sumptuous Olive

mac eyeshadows mac palette mac satin taupe swatch mac sumptuous olive swatch

My mac palette is coming along rather nicely with the two newest additions being Satin Taupe and Sumptuous Olive.
Satin Taupe is a frost finish which usually means they're less pigmented but really buildable, to be honest I'd say this was more of a metallic-y finish and it seems quite pigmented to me! It's a gorgeous  grey bronzy purply taupy colour that seems to show up differently on various skin tones and a quick google image search shows it looking good on everyone. I used the flash in these photos so you can really see the purple but in natural light it looks a lot browner on my cool skin tone.
Sumptuous Olive is a Veluxe Pearl finish which is known for it's metallic shimmer and easy to blend texture, the colour is a stunning golden green which I'm hoping will go hand in hand with the shadows in my Urban Decay naked palette to make a pretty smoky eye on nights out.

There's not many spaces left in my palette now, any recommendations for pale skin and blue eyes?

Skincare Wishlist

I'm not getting any younger (sigh) so I've recently become more "into" skincare. Ha I say more, what I really mean is I'm no longer smearing babylotion all over my face and hoping for the best. Anyway that being said Escentual are offering 10% off French pharmacy brands at the moment so I went and made a wishlist of treats for ma face.
