Mac Mineralize Skinfinish: Soft and Gentle

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

I've heard nothing but good things on millions of beauty blogs about Mac's mineralize skinfinishes, but I've always stayed away as my mind was thinking "£21.50.....for a highlighter?!" I'm all for a dewy glow but £21.50 just seemed a little extravagant to me when my Beat The Blues highlighter does the trick for a mere £5.25.
But I was wrong.
Mac's mineralize skinfinish in soft and gentle is like a little pot of heaven for my dull complexion, it is the zaz to my piz, the voom to my va va, and the errrr flourish to my flair? It is a pretty pot of baked champagne goodness that sits perfectly over any foundation to give a natural  and buildable glow. It's easily applied to the cheekbones with a blush brush but can be used on the brow bone or any other area you want to highlight, and I'd say it's pretty versatile for a number of different skin tones.
You probably can't tell in the over yellowy and over flashed photo above but when worn with a matte foundation soft and gentle really helps finish off the whole "flawless and polished" look which is perfect for a night out, and during the day I've been wearing it with Rimmel's wake me up foundation to eliminate the ijustgotoutofbed look.
I'd definitely recommend this to anyone suffering with lifeless looking skin as a result of the dull days setting in, and I'm looking forward to finding the right shade to replace my bronzer next.

  3. I've heard so much about this but i have never really seen a swatch of it until now. I thought it was just another typical highlighter from MAC, but the swatch here just makes it look so pretty :) I know the price is a bit high for this, but considering that theres quite alot of product, the price is fair. Thanks for the recommendation, i will check it out next time i'm at MAC hehe xxx

  4. How amazing do you look in that bottom pic?! You really suit your hair tied up. I have a MAC highlighter in Lightscapade, I didn't pay full price for it though (managed to snap it up in an outlet for £16.50!) as I definitely share your thoughts about it being expensive for what it is! I am realllly intrigued by soft and gentle though after seeing all the hype everywhere! xx

  14. its a goodun, I like it. I only just started using it though because I was finishing off my 'petticoat' which was a limited edition thing slightly darker than this. Works well as a very light eyeshadow dusting over a primer too :)
ps, the petticoat lasted for about 4.5 years! (used all through spring and summer, too dark for winter)
